A former Mrs. Orange County is being charged with counts of child pornography and lewd acts against a child after taking photos of a 4-year old in various sexual positions.
Meghan Alt, 25-year old mother and volunteer at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, was arrested and charged on Wednesday on one felony count of possessing child pornography, three felony counts of committing lewd acts on a child under the age of 14, and will possibly face a sentence enhancement for having as much sexual content with a child as she did.
Alt, openly admitted to taking the explicit photos of a 4-year old relative and distributing them via the internet. She allegedly, contacted a Marine based in South Carolina and sent him three photos of the little girl. The photos were flagged by Navy investigators who immediately contacted the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
Because Alt was also a volunteer at the church, she did have constant access to other kids, which is why there is a full on investigation going on, to ensure that no other children were a victim to Alt’s photoshoots.
Apparently, her husband was just as surprised as officials were as per, Mike Carrol, the Southern California Deputy District Attorney.
“We are still going through all the evidence, all the emails that were sent, the text messages that were sent,”
he said.
Alt will be held in government custody despite her bail that was set at $100,000.
