Now, these are the things I like to see. Lupe Fiasco has announced a new business venture; Neighborhood Start Fund, a nonprofit organization to assist young entrepreneurs on their way to the top. He’s hoping to lend a helping hand – in the aspects of money, mentoring and more – as young inner-city individuals “turn ideas into start-ups.”

Find out more after the jump.

The Neighborhood Start Fund was co-founded by Lupe and Di-Ann Eisnor. According to their website, the nonprofit is “a neighborhood-specific fund to support entrepreneurs and start-ups from underserved areas. Our first neighborhood is Brownsville Brooklyn.” In addition, “we want to turn every neighborhood fund into a local micro-economic engine.”

For those looking to get their entrepreneurial foundation laid out, you will pitch an idea, which takes place on Nov. 13, 2015, and “compete for $5000 to turn their ideas into prototypes.” I say go for the gusto. There will be training, and more.

Check out Lupe in the gallery at the top.

What I’m looking to find out, is it for Brownsville residents only, or will the business be based in Brownsville (until the expansion of course).
