Post Malone had just begun to make LOUD noise when he was blasted for his use of the n-word. However, during a laid back interview with Hot 97’s Nessa, the “Mood” rapper uses his age as justification to making the mistake.

“People like to slander you, I guess, because of things that happened many years ago when you was a little kid,” he explains. “I’m 20; I just turned 20 this year; in July. I was 16. People want to take it back to the past, but it’s not about the past … people want to live in the past, but you can’t.” Good explanation.

In addition to his past indiscretions, Malone reveals the origins of his name – Post being his last name and Malone being “made up” – the people he hopes to work with in the future, country music in his future, and how he linked up with Kanye West.
