When Cash Money came into the picture, they confidentially signed a deal which agreed to pay Prince and Aspire 22% of Drakes royalties. The confidential deal(like many others) went bad, which was the reason for the decision to sue. Birdman’s label claimed the the deal was not actually with Prince but with Aspire. In the middle of all of this Prince had also sued Lil Wayne’s manager, Cortez Bryant, who was an executive for Aspire at that time for allegedly bringing Drake to Cash Money. Bryant was later fired by Cash Money for auditing their records to see how much Aspire was owed. Prince believed that Aspire didn’t sue or collect from Cash Money because of the relationship that Bryant had with Wayne. On October 6th, Prince had asked for immediate action due to the increased amount of money. Two Aspie shareholders reached a settlement for 11 million n damages.
