Just one week after TIDAL’s benefit concert TIDAL X: 1020, an exclusive interview with Billboard reports that the Barclays Center Theater will now be the official concert space for TIDAL. The space previously known as Cushman & Wakefield Theater was renamed today and will carry on being known as the Tidal Theatre.
According to reports, “the deal is unique in that it is believed to be the first time a digital content company has come in as a sponsor for a live performance venue.” Barclays Center CEO Brett Yormark said,
“As evidenced by [Tidal X: 1020] the other night, Tidal, when they want to, can put on some big time events, and we anticipate having quite a few here at Barclays Center,” Yormark said. “It’s just another strategic alliance that I think helps to advance the content business here at Barclays Center, and we’re very excited about it.”

Yormark added, the partnership with TIDAL is a “content deal” allowing TIDAL to host “a minimum of eight events into the theater annually.” He added, “we’ll compliment that with other events,” making it clear that Tidal artists won’t be the only one’s to perform in this space.
The space previously hosted around 14 concerts and events per year and can seat anywhere between 4,000 and 6,000.
