Rihanna is extending the scope of her acting skills. The “BBHMM” singer has been cast in the upcoming sci-fi film, “Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets,” alongside model Cara Delevingne, Dane DeHaan (The Amazing Spider-Man 2), and Clive Owen (Closer).

Although the role she plays is unclear, according to Luc Besson, the film’s director, we can expect to see RiRi in a “big part.”

Besson took to his Instagram account to make the announcement and express his enthusiasm on the new cast member.

“RIHANNA is in VALERIAN!!!!! ….and she has a big part!! I’m Sooo the!!!”

According to Variety, Rihanna and the rest of the cast are scheduled to begin filming January in France, and the movie is expected to hit theaters on July 21, 2017.
