GOP Presidential candidate Carly Fiorina returned to “The View” on Friday after the show was criticized for joking that her face looked “demented” during the Republican debate and let’s just say that clearly someone came with an agenda to address and no one was leaving until it was fully discussed on national television, as it was almost cringe worthy for the rest of us…
The last we heard from Whoopi Goldberg was regarding a fire that almost risked her audience and show on tour, but ironically the real fire was in ABC’s The View’s studio as things were just getting steaming hot in tension between them and their guest this Friday, Carly Fiorina. She talked issues, and things got contentious when the subject of abortion came up.
“The View” co-host Joy Behar asked:
Let’s talk about issues for a second. You believe that a feminist is a woman who lives the life she chooses, which we all applaud. Yet it seems to me that you are against programs that would let women make choices for their lives. For example, I read, and maybe you can correct this, that you would like to overthrow Roe v. Wade, you’re against government mandated maternity leave, which is a woman’s issue, and you’re against raising the minimum wage, [but] a lot of women are working low wage jobs an really the minimum wage, and really the minimum wageI think, is a great idea, so how do you reconcile these two positions.
Then Fiorina responds back:
You just went through the litany of the left, if I may say. That is the litany of the left – that the only way you can be pro-woman is to agree with the left’s prescriptions for women. Here’s the problem, though – the prescriptions that you laid out aren’t helping women. You’ve laid out a bunch of stuff. Let’s just start with abortion. I mentioned common ground. Actually, the Ameripan people have found common ground on this issue. Whether you’re pro-choice or pro-life – I’m pro-life – whether you’re pro-choice or pro-life the majority of Americans are horrified by the reality that we’re harvesting baby parts through late term abortion.
Next thing you know, Whoopi was not having it all, she jumps in saying, “Carly, I need to stop you. Because you know that’s not true. Carly, you know no one’s harvesting baby parts. Carly, come on, girl.”
Fiorina replied, “It’s interesting that Planned Parenthood just announced that they would no longer take compensation for that.” Behar then said to Fiorina, “Please don’t say things like that that are not true. That offends my sensibility to hear you say something like that when you know it’s not true.” But Both Whoopi and Joy shut that down with the quickness. Then they weren’t even done, Whoopi Goldberg said, the pro-lifer should get some thick skin and had no apology for the derisive comments her colleagues made about Fiorina’s appearance on the last Republican presidential debate last week when they said, Fiorina’s face looked “demented” and pro-abortion host Joy Behar said Fiorina looked like a “Halloween mask.” Check the clips of the interview below, they gave her no breaks as The View had ZERO chill.
