It’s been almost 16 years since the Hip-Hop game lost one of the greatest, Big Pun. Today (Novemeber 10th) marks what would have been the Bronx emcee’s 44th birthday and while you scroll down your Twitter and Instagram feeds, you’ll most likely come across countless shout outs to the late rapper.
One of those many shoutouts, came from Big Pun’s, 21 year-old son Chris Rivers. In an heartfelt birthday message, Rivers celebrates Big Pun not only as one of the greatest emcees but as a father and husband.

Big Pun died of a heart attack when his son was just six years old. Rivers wrote,
“The impact you left on the world will make you immortal as pun,” he wrote. “And the impact you left on mommy and your daughters and I left you immortal in our hearts. I don’t care if it sounds corny. Love doesn’t judge. You’re this Titan in my eyes this insurmountable force as an rapper I hear stories about your legendary charisma and the way you inspired people like a king.”
