Because Nevada is America’s gambling expert, this ruling will most likely affect the rest of the country. Already, the NY attorney general Eric Schneiderman ordered the sites to bar NY betters.

More states will likely require these sites to get licensed as gambling institutions. Because DraftKings and FanDuel hold immense user numbers, they will probably face little issue obtaining the licenses.

These sites distribute prizes sometimes as large as $1 million. States probably want their tax cut. The FBI actually opened the investigation this ruling closes.

The companies believe they are covered under a 2006 precedent. However, this Nevada ruling will change prizes. As it is Iowa, Washington, Arizona, Louisiana and Montana do not allow site users to play for cash.
