Could There Be An “Empire” Spin-Off Going Down?

Wednesday nights are going to be somewhat more hype than currently. Seems like storylines such as the one when Hakeem got kidnapped, may be extended in the future. For some time now, there has been talks of an “Empire” spin-off. Aside from previous comments made by the show’s co-creater, Lee Daniels, “I think there is going to be a spin-off from “Empire,” during her controversial stop at Watch What Happens Live, Vivica A. Fox pretty much said, it’s a go.

After being asked by Andy Cohen about the “Empire” spin-off, Fox didn’t deny rumors.

In addition to the already circulating stories, executive producer Ilene Chaiken says that if there is a spin-off, it’s not coming any time soon.

“Right now, we are focused on making the best season two of ‘Empire‘ we can possibly make,” Chaiken says. “In our world, there may well be storylines and characters that we can spin off, but that’s not what we are focused on right now, and nothing official or concrete is happening with regards to it. We really just want to stay focused on what we’re doing.”
