This morning we learned that Isis took full responsibility in the many attacks that struck Paris last night. These attacks have saddened many all over the world as many have lost loved ones. Stephen Colbert held back tears after he gave a message addressing the attacks and canceling his show. As shown in the video, Colbert’s heart was very heavy.
After a commercial break, Colbert told his audience about the attacks. As a result, he canceled his show of the night. He ended saying,
“Folks, we end tonight’s show with a heavy heart because we taped all of tonight’s show, and then we found out about the horrific attacks in Paris today. I know not much is known right now. We do know there have been many deaths and the crisis is still ongoing. President Hollande declared a state of emergency, and President Obama has promised that the United States will do whatever it takes to bring those terrorists to justice. We add our thoughts and prayers to everyone in Paris.”
The sadness in Colbert’ face definitely was not hidden. At the end of the message, Colbert took a deep breath and tapped on the desk a little. He was clearly frustrated and upset at the madness. This was definitely a sad day for Paris and we still keep them in our prayers.
