The site acknowledges Drake as, “The first artist to go platinum in 2015,” adding, “Drake saw his ‘Hotline Bling’ video get spoofed by Donald Trump and get covered by a range of artists. His feud with Meek Mill over ghostwriting accusations also reignited debates about authenticity in Hip Hop.”

While Nicki Minaj is described as, “The artist broke out as one of the entertainment world’s most outspoken voices on issues of race, gender, and sexuality,” continuing “and made waves with a headline-grabbing MTV Video Music Award appearance and third world tour.”

Voting closes at 11:59 p.m. on December 4th. The fan’s choice for “Person Of The Year” will be announced December 7 while TIME’s editors will reveal their choice for the award December 9 on NBC’s Today Show.
