Police say they’re evacuating a Planned Parenthood building in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where a gunman has fired at officers. This is most definitely not the first incident involving a horrific shooting like this one, this season alone. Lt. Catherine Buckley said the suspect brought items into the building with him. Denise Speller, who works at a nearby salon, said she heard at least 10 gunshots go off and saw a police officer get hit “It was terrifying,” she said, adding that it was unclear exactly where the shots were coming from. Brigitte Wolfe, who said she works in the area of shooting said that she saw about five officers behind a building with their guns drawn, as well as about three SWAT vehicles and roughly seven police cars from her vantage point in a strip mall that’s across the street from the Planned Parenthood.

As of the latest update, The mayor of Colorado Springs, Colorado, said on Twitter Friday that police have detained the suspected gunman accused of opening fire inside a Planned Parenthood facility there; thank god. “The perpetrator is in custody. The situation has been resolved. There’s no continuing peril to the citizens of Colorado Springs,” Mayor John Suthers told reporters, “But there’s a huge crime scene that has to be processed. We have to determine exactly how many victims there are. Eleven people have been transported to local hospitals, according to Colorado Springs Police Lt. Catherine Buckley. Five of those transported are police officers from various responding agencies, Buckley said.
