SMH shame on this referee and shout out to Cam Newton. It’s no secret that Newton likes to give his touchdown balls to Panthers fans, most often to children. It’s been dubbed his Sunday giveaway. This past Sunday during the Carolina Panthers 41-38 win over the New Orleans Saints, Newton tried to keep the tradition alive and a mean referee tried to end it.
During the 3rd quarter after a touchdown that gave the Panthers the lead, Newton tried to retrieve the ball to do his usual routine. A ref however decided to play Grinch and wouldn’t give Cam the ball, instead choosing to throw it to the ball boy or should I say man. Well Newton wouldn’t be deterred, he ran over and yanked the ball away, then proceeded to jog to the stands and give it to a young Panthers fan. Way to go Cam!
