Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill’s appearance in court did not go as planned. The 28-year-old was found guilty of violating probation in the past, and although Judge Genece Brinkley has put off his sentencing to February 5, there are still major restrictions Mill has to abide by until then.

“You cannot perform, even if performance is in Philadelphia,” said Brinkley.

In court, Meek Mill, real name Robert Williams, voices his opinion on the on the travel restrictions. “My mom sees me with Nicki Minaj on the internet, but she’s having surgery,” making it difficult to be with her since she lives in New Jersey.

Surely the judge will allow him this pass.

In addition to his travel plea, Meek speaks to the judge about the type of man he is in comparison to who he can be. “I don’t wanna be a criminal. I’m not a gangsta. But I’m not a perfect man,” he expresses. “I have the potential to be greater than I am today.”

Since Brinkley was not convinced of any positive changes made by the rapper, there were a few individuals who spoke on his behalf, including Nicki with the following:

“He doesn’t have a lot of structure. He can be irresponsible,” said Minaj, who was sworn in under her birth name, Onika Maraj. “Since I’ve come in his life, I think I’ve been working on that a little bit. … He’s just getting accustomed to being an adult.”

#IJS: Meek could be facing jail time, but I believe the judge is allowing him this time to see if he f**ks up. Time to work hard, because many want to see him do everything but win.
