Salt-N-Pepe are legendary rapper as we all know. They recently spoke to HuffPost Live. The two discussed the lack of female presence in the rap game.

Blogger Mimi Green asks the duo if they felt as though the baton has been passed or dropped when it comes to woman in the hip-hop game. Salt replied that she believes it has definitely been dropped. Pepe says,

“We need more. It’s mind-baffling to us to this day. We’re like, ‘Where’s some females?'”

Not singling out female rappers such as Nicki Minaj and Iggy but Salt-N-Pepa wanna see more female MC’s step up to the plate. They mentioned that back in their day, they had other rappers such as MC Lyte, Queen Latifah, Eve , Lil Kim, and the list goes on and on.

Salt says,

“Maybe we have to get together, the ladies, and go find some girls and put them out there. I have no idea.”

Pepe made a statement talking about the men that bring the woman outside of the bubble referring to T.I. working with Iggy on his label.

“All these male rappers, they bring out the women. That’s a lot of them came from man camp.”
