New England Patriots vs Miami Dolphins

The New England Patriots have made a name for themselves as one of the best teams in the NFL for a long time.  They’ve also built a reputation as cheaters.  The Miami Dolphins took extra steps to make sure they wouldn’t become a victim.

The Miami Herald reports that the Dolphins took extra precautions to guard against potential cheating by the Patriots when Miami went to New England in October.

Most notably: the organization traveled to New England this year with more equipment staffers than they do for a usual road trip. It wasn’t a coincidence. It was a preventative measure.

The extra staffing ensured that no Patriots employee would have any reason to touch (and potentially tamper with) their gear ahead of or during the Thursday night game.

The Patriots have Spygate, Deflategate and many allegations from visiting teams complaining about malfunctioning headsets at Gillette Stadium, making it all but impossible to communicate remotely during games.

In any event the Patriots beat the Dolphins 36-7 that game.  They will face off again for the final game of the season on Sunday but that game will be in Miami.
