We all waited on the verdict in the Tamir Rice story where a cop shot the 12-year-old boy after assuming his toy gun was a real one. To no surprise, the court decided not to indict the officer that shot Tamir Rice just a few seconds after arriving on scene. The world was outraged with this verdict as these stories are becoming the norm. The mother of Tamir Rice has spoken out on how she felt after hearing the verdict.

Rice’s mother, Samaria Rice, says she was at home when she got the news of the verdict. When she found out that Officer Timothy Lehmann would not be charged in her son’s murder, she says she was upset as she should have been.

“I’m mad as hell. Due to the corrupt system, I have a dead child.”

Samaria Rice will never get a chance to see her son or hear his voice again. I guess that meant nothing to the court system who says the shooting was “reasonable.” The jury says they could not find enough evidence of criminal misconduct to charge the officer. The Rice family says they were not suprised by the verdict.

“It has been clear for months now that Cuyahoga County prosecutor Timothy McGinty was abusing and manipulating the grand jury process to orchestrate a vote against indictment.”

Samaria Rice went on to say,

“I feel like breathe has been taken from my body once again.”

God Bless the soul of Tamir Rice and may his email find closure.
