Ladies and gentleman – the moment you’ve all been waiting for is almost here. This Thursday, January 7th, New York’s new medical marijuana program will be launched by state officials!

As of Thursday, at least one dispensary will be ready in Union Square with more opening in days to come. The other locations include Murray Hill, the Bronx and Queens and are expected to open sometime later in the month.

“New York State’s Medical Marijuana Program is scheduled to launch on January 7, 2016, just 18 months after Governor Andrew Cuomo signed the Compassionate Care Act,” Health Department spokesman James Plastiras wrote in a recent e-mail on Monday.
