For the second time this season, Houston Rockets guard Ty Lawson has been suspended by the NBA for an alcohol-related offense.

Lawson was suspended three games without pay for driving under the influence of alcohol in violations of laws in California, the league announced Thursday.

The violation occurred in Los Angeles in July, just months after he was arrested for a similar offense in Denver in January 2015. For his offense in Denver, the league suspended him for two games.

Lawson was a member of the Nuggets when both incidents occurred. He was ultimately traded to the Rockets.

With the latest suspension, Lawson will miss games against Utah on Thursday night, Indiana on Sunday and at Memphis on Tuesday.
