Justice is finally being served, slowly but surely. A NYPD Sergeant has now lost her gun AND her badge due to the fact that she sat and watched the death of Eric Garner take place. Sgt. Kizzy Adonis has been placed on modified duty after four counts of “failure to supervise” were given to her during an investigation.

As Eric Garner screamed repeatedly, “I can’t breathe,” Adonis did nothing to come to his rescue. Mind you she was standing right there. Adonis was a 14-year NYPD veteran. She was recently reported to sergeant during the time of the death. This put a huge damper in that position especially since she was suppose to be on a 18 month probation. Adonis said that she did her Garner saying he couldnt breathe but, “the perpetrator’s condition did not seem serious and that he did not appear to get worse.” Well neither did you care to find out ma’am!

Although this is just a step towards justice, Garners widow was not quite that happy about the news. She says,

“When I get an indictment or a prosecution, then I’ll be happy.”

Crazy thing is, Adonis was not even called to the scene at the time. She happened to hear the scuffle on her radio and came to see what was going on. Al Sharpton released a statement saying,

“This is a good sign, but it’s certainly not all we want,” said Sharpton. “I think all the officers that were there need to be brought up on charges once the federal investigation is over. She and everyone involved had a responsibility to stop it.”
