Natalie Cole has been laid to rest following a star-studded home-going service at the West Angeles Church of God in Glendale, Cali.

More than 5,000 friends and family members showed up to offer their final respects, including Stevie Wonder, who played his harmonica and sang one song with the choir, Lionel Richie, Smokey Robinson, Rev. Jesse Jackson, Angela Bassett, Gladys Knight, and David Foster, the “Unforgettable … with Love” album producer.

“I feel so blessed to have called you my friend, and my buddy, and many times my confidante,” Smokey Robinson says during his eulogy. “You are so real and down-to-earth. Now I have to say you’re so real and up to heaven.”

Natalie died on New Year’s Eve at the age of 65. The cause of death was heart failure. She will be laid to rest next to her father and mother at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
