IFWT_Ronda Rousey lose

Ronda Rousey suffered a shocking defeat to Holly Holm by way of a second-round knockout during UFC 193 in November.  It was estimated that Rousey would need around six months to recover before entering the ring again.  Well it turns out Rousey has requested extensive time off and will not fight during UFC 200 in July as was previously planned.

According to White, a delay in the filming of a remake of “Roadhouse,” in which Rousey has been cast, coupled with the loss to Holm has suspended her return indefinitely. Rousey is still expected to fight sometime this year.

“The filming of the movie got pushed back,” White told Yahoo! Sports. “She could do both, but the question is, should she do both? She could do both, but why should she? The filming is in a time frame where she’d finish before 200, but it would be cutting it too close.”

Holm (10-0), meanwhile, has booked her first 135-pound title defense against Miesha Tate at UFC 197 on March 5 in Las Vegas.

In a previous interview, Rousey said a rematch with Holmes is “what I want”, but it might be a while before we get to see that.  When Rousey is ready to come back, it’s possible that her first fight will not be against Holmes.  It would be wiser to fight someone easier to get back in the groove of things.
