Another day, another video of a cop shooting an African-American. This time, this video comes from Chicago, and dates back to 2013. The reason footage has finally came out is because of court order. Hit the jump to see the horrific footage.
Chicago police officer Kevin Fry fatally shot 17 year old Cedrick Chatman on Jan. 7, 2013, in broad daylight during a foot chase, according to court records.
Cedrick’s family fought for the video of the shooting to become public. Finally today the Federal judge decided for the video to become public, after Chicago withdrew its objection.
It’s a very scary world where the people who are suppose to protect us, are the ones killing us. This has been going on for years, but the advancement in technology allows more people to be able to record cop shootings, as well as the ability to share the video on social media helps families to obtain justice.
