Dustin Diamond who made a name for himself by playing screech in the 80-90s show “Saved By The Bell” checked into a Wisconsin jail on friday to begin serving a four month sentence. While at a bar having a night out with his girlfriend Amanda Schultz,the actor stabbed a man with a switch blade which he claims was in self defense on Christmas day 2014.

Diamond was charged June of 2015 with two misdemeanors: carrying a concealed weapon and disorderly conduct. He was found not guilty on a felony charge of recklessly endangering public safety. At the time the actor argued that he only drew the knife out in self defense. With hopes that it would deescalate the situation and protect his girlfriend,who was also found guilty of disorderly conduct. Once sentencing was delivered in June he had these words:
“I Sincerely apologize to everyone involved…This was the single most terrifying experience of my life, this is all I’ve been able to think about for the last six months”
