Clueless actress and Fox News contributor, Stacey Dash has been receiving a ton of backlash after she suggested that there no longer be a BET network and Black History Month, while addressing the current Oscar boycott. During a live broadcast of Fox & Friends earlier this week Dash said, “We have to make up our minds. Either we want to have segregation or integration and if we don’t want segregation, then we need to get rid of channels like BET and the BET Awards and the Image Awards where you’re only awarded if you’re black,” she continued, “If it were the other way around, we would be up in arms. It’s a double standard.”
The BET network didn’t take to kindly to her words and slammed the actress on Instagram in a hilarious post reminding her that she had a reoccurring role their hit show, The Game and she could return her checks.
Now, Dash is firing back at the network in an open letter posted to her blog titled,”How BET Lies To Black People.”
Read more below.
“Ever since I said THIS on Fox yesterday, Black Entertainment Television has been throwing shade,” Stacey wrote in her blog post. “They reminded me — and the rest of America — that I appeared on a show called The Game, which appeared on BET.”
She continued,
“Well, here’s the thing. Thank you for reminding me, since most people have never heard of that show. Why? It’s on BET.Quick. Name the top shows on BET. Drawing a blank? I think I’ve made my point.I’m thankful for all of the acting jobs I’ve had. But I look forward to the day when people don’t self-segregate based on skin color, while loudly complaining about a segregated society.”
Stacey then went on to address the Oscars controversy again saying,
“Oscars are awarded to the actors and actresses who excel… not the audience. What’s next? Awarding $1 million to the guy sitting in his pajamas on the couch watching Survivor? Giving a blue ribbon to the kid who stayed home from field day? Giving a Nobel Peace Prize to a President who escalated wars in Iraq and Afghanistan? No, that would be unreasonable.”
Dash wraps up her commentary with this final thought, “BET lies to American black people by telling them that the rest of America is racist, so stick close to your own kind. They’re absolutely mortified that someone like me—an independent-thinking black woman—dares call their bluff.”

There are more IMPORTANT things going on in our world, then everyone bickering about an Oscar award.Stacey, I dont know you, and frankly dont want to , but you are really, making no sence. Secondly, what YOU think and feel doesnt really matter. Who are you and who cares? Why dont you put all of this HIGH ENERGY into helping the homeless or finding out how you can help out with the water situation in Michigan. Do something positive!
No African Americans for the oscars is ridiculous 100%. I may get blow back for this, but I’m a white male and I feel a tv channel like BET doesn’t help matters as far as race goes. If white people started White entertainment television this country would be rioting in the streets. Bet should allow all races on the channel. Racism is alive and well and it’s sickening and disheartening. When will it end??
LOL all races are on BET. Have you ever tuned in? And what’s wrong with wanting to see more of your own on TV? There are pretty much nothing but white people on NBC, FOX, CBS, and ABC. Maybe if those channels would air more shows with people of color or cast more of us in their shows then we wouldn’t need a BET. It’s a double standard out here that sucks but it is what it is….
First, go find out why BET was created and its purpose.
2nd, look around the Tv industry, Hollywood, Oscars,…etc and tell me if that purpose is still valide!
Honestly im say this much blacks have what we got cause we worked hard for it after all these years of being opress and judged and enslaved. With that being said i assume whatever blacks are benefiting from we take it as our reparation cause its do and we still haven’t received our reparation so dont go talking about what if white people good question?? What if white people had their own entertainment television show like BET?? Allow me that wouldn’t be nothing new, in fact what is it they dont have some control over Not for nothing whites always seem to want piece of the action of whatever blacks create along with many things which kills me cause we don’t get credit for our compliments smh shit kill me now and days.
Bet is now owned by a white man so where’s the segregation in that Stacey???
