In a video clip put on Twitter last night, Dr. Dre revealed the news:

“I want y’all to say what’s up to the new Aftermath representative, Anderson .Paak, baby. Welcome to Aftermath.”

.Paak released his first album Venice in 2014, was heavily featured on Dr. Dre’s grammy-nominated album Compton and also just released his sophomore album Malibu where you can get here. To top it all off, he’s done what seemed inevitable if you were following his journey, signing a deal with Dr. Dre – a nearly impossible feat in hip-hop.

Anderson’s latest album Malibu was rolled out with 16 tracks, featuring guest appearances from ScHoolboy Q, The Game, Talib Kweli, BJ The Chicago Kid and Rapsody, and others.

The album received a 4 out of 5 rating from HipHopDx with reviews of:

“Malibu is jazzy, but not in the acid jazz way that was K. Dot’s To Pimp A Butterfly. The rhythms are sumptuous and contextual; the songwriting honest and playful. Anderson .Paak and his sunlit septum piercing may be just be gearing up for a breakout 2016.”

Keep your eye on the kid.
