A winter storm hit the state of Connecticut today resulting in a snow day for schools in the state accept Newington. Sandra Salvatore a parent of a student that attends school in Newington, CT said

“Overall it wasn’t a good choice. Newington could afford a snow day. It was pretty bad. I don’t think many people anticipated it would be this bad, but most schools were closed.”

Many homes were without power today in the state in CT including Newington schools. Students told local news stations that the power went out multiple times during classes today. Many students didn’t show up to school due to the fact that it was pretty much a blizzard outside this morning and road conditions were terrible.

When asked why the superintendent kept schools open today he said “peer pressure.” WTF? bye dummy! What the hell is wrong with the Newington superintendent? Being from CT I know how bad the weather can get. Someone could have been seriously hurt on the way to school this morning. I think that one snow day wouldn’t have hurt anyone.
