Nas talk to CNBC about his investment philosophy.

People. That is the absolute No. 1. I love to bet on great people that inspire me and make me think or see things differently.

Nas later adds that the management team of companies “makes a huge difference in the kinds of companies that will stick out to me.”

Nas has invested in companies like Lyft, Dropbox, Coinbase and Tradesy, which are some of most highly profitable Silicon Valley companies. He also explained that his thrist for knowledge led him to technology investing.

Nas transition from the studio to the boardroom has been spectacular, and I only hope the best for the man that produced some of the best rap music ever heard on the planet.
