Obama told CBS he carries gifts from supporters with him daily. The complete list of Obama’s pocket charms:
- “Lucky” poker chip a tatted biker gave him in 2008
- Miniature Lady of Guadalupe a woman gave him while imploring him to address immigration reform
- Guitar picks from Bruce Springsteen
- Tiny Buddha a Buddhist monk gifted him
- Rosary beads from Pope Francis
The variety definitely draws attention. Obama seems pretty accepting of all his supporters, representing a vast array of values in his collection. Most likely he has received both more generic and even less conventional tokens of gratitude from his supporters.
Recently Jeb Bush told reporters he hands out tiny turtles from his pocket to symbolize his slow but steady approach to his presidential candidacy and campaign. But Obama seems much more sincere in his pocketful.
