The mayor of Philadelphia is talking tough in regards to LeSean McCoy and his run in with off duty cops at a Philly night club. You already know the story, McCoy and others are accused of beating up two men over bottles of champagne. It just so happens those men turned out to be police so now things are magnified.
Of course there was no way for McCoy or anyone he was with to know the men were police and it’s not right to treat the situation in any other way. Even with that said, the mayor is trying to turn it into a case where police were brutally attacked.
“If McCoy wants to stomp our officers and pound our officers, then he needs to pay the price and answer for his actions.”
Kenney told CBS Philly he has seen the video of the brawl and says “In addition to punches being thrown, there were some kicks that looked as if they were being leveled and that’s unconscionable and it’s cowardly.”
McCoy has already denied the version of events being portrayed in the media. This was no more than a typical fight at a club but I have a feeling they are going to try and make an example of McCoy.
