The year for ghostwriters. I think we need a new name because they aren’t really “ghosts” any more. Two of hip-hop’s biggest stars, Drake and Future, are found in the credits for Kanye West’s latest album – The Life of Pablo. Hit the jump to see what we’re talking about.

Drake (Aubrey Graham) and Future (Nayvadius Wilburn) were both credited on Kanye’s song “Facts”, most likely due to the interpolation of their song “Jumpman” during the track.

But what might be a bigger surprise (or not at all), is to see Drake’s name in the credits for Kanye’s song “30 Hours”. I mean it is a love song and that’s always Drake’s area of expertise so it wouldn’t be a total shock to find out Drake wrote that song for ‘Ye.

I guess nobody is concerned with hip-hop’s authentic passion for individual lyricism and life-experiences any more. What a true business this has become.
