Fans were hopeful that Lil Wayne and Birdman had squashed their beef after the release of the recent single, “Hate” featuring Lil Wayne, Birdman and Juvenile. However, the song’s producer and Hot Boy$’ member Mannie Fresh revealed in a recent interview the conflict still remains.

The drama dates back to 2014 when, Lil Wayne pushed to get off Cash Money Records and filed a $51 million lawsuit against Birdman,his mentor and Cash Money Records’ CEO, claiming Birdman was holding back the release of Tha Carter V. In an interview with Genius’ Mannie Fresh revealed although the two have been able to work and party together they are still working on a level of forgiveness.

Mannie Fresh explained,

“I can see how paperwork and foolishness can destroy something,” adding he hoped recording “Hate” helped the recovery process along. “Everything is not resolved with him and Wayne, but I overcame it by saying to them, ‘We can resolve all that behind the curtain, but for now, let’s make music for the people.’ When it all started coming together, the brotherly love came out. We did the song, then, ‘I wish you the best. We should do it more often.'”

The producer revealed ‘Hate’ was not the only song to come from the Hot Boy$ crew being together. He said, they were able to record about “five songs “with that old Cash Money sound,” which can be expected to be released on his forthcoming album.
