Now we’ve seen a few adults run on the court to try to get to LeBron James and others and get their ass hauled out the arena but what happens when it’s a cute little kid?
While the Knicks were in New Orleans to play the Pelicans on Monday night, a young boy ran on to the court and gave Carmelo Anthony a hug. Anthony took it in stride, smiling and giving the boy a pat on the head. He’s seems to have gotten away with it and according to ESPN, the chief of arena security at the Smoothie King Center, Russ Bourgeois, declined to comment on the incident.
“It was a little kid,” Anthony said when explaining his friendly response. “I was shocked. I didn’t really know who was it until I actually looked over and saw that it was a kid.”
“I think it was because he was a little kid, they just let him go,” Anthony said. “Definitely a security issue, though, for sure.”
