The late Mac Dre is a staple in hip-hop, particularly in his native Bay Area, and fellow Bay Area rapper G-Eazy plans to bring him back to life during his performance at Coachella this year.

“Technology is crazy now,” G-Eazy told Larry King while stopping by his show recently. “You’ll actually believe it’s him.”

G noted that this was to be a surprise for his set, but seemed confident that their episode wouldn’t air until after the festival on the 15th of this month. Guess he was wrong.

The celebrity hologram trend began at the very same concert in 2012, when Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre brought out a hologram version of Tupac. Since then, we’ve seen Eazy-E resurrected at Rock The Bells, as well as have been tons of plans for more celebs in the future, including The Notorious B.I.G. most recently.
