King thought he was being robbed at first because the officers walked up to him and asked him to lean against a wall and took his wallet out of his pocket. He says he did not see their badges. He then began to run away from the officers and call for help. The officers caught up to King and began to beat him until he fell unconscious. Check this out. The officers had the wrong person and instead of apologizing, King was charged with assault with intent to commit great bodily harm, aggravated assault of a police officer, and resisting arrest. King was eventually cleared of all the charges after his family spent all they had to get him out of the legal bind. He is currently suing for violations of the Fourth and Fourteenth Amendments.
