IFWT_innocent man befriends crookedcop
In today’s political climate we are constantly hearing of crooked cops, police brutality and racial discrimination. Many have harbored negative feelings towards America’s police for these reasons. Jameel McGee from Benton Harbor, Michigan has taken a different approach.

Back in 2005 Jameel was randomly accused for selling drugs, and was convicted to four years in prison and lost everything due to being incarcerated. Former Michigan police officer Andrew Collins crooked ways eventually caught up to him and was sent to prison for falsifying reports , planting drugs and stealing. He went on to say: “Basically,at the start of that day, I was going to make sure I had another drug arrest.”

After both men were released from prison they both ended up at a faith-base employment agency were they now work together at a cafe in the same small town. McGee’s initial goal “was to seek him out.. and to hurt him.” When Collins was confronted he said “Honestly, I have no explanation, all I can do is say I’m sorry.” McGee forgave him and Collins was so humbled by such forgiveness he was moved to tears. “I just started weeping because he doesn’t owe me that. I do not deserve that,”Collins said. The two are now friends and have spoken to several media outlets about this experience and on the importance of forgiveness and redemption. What do you think? Could you be McGee if you were falsely sent to prison? Let us know in the comments below.
