Leave it to Matt Barnes to give us a great soundbite.  The Memphis Grizzlies are suffering from an insane amount of injuries.  Stars Marc Gasol and Mike Conley are out as well as their potential backups Brandan Wright and Mario Chalmers, who was cut from the team after his season-ending injury.  Unfortunately for the Grizzlies, their first round in the playoffs is against the one of the best teams of all-time, the San Antonio Spurs who beat the Grizzlies by 32 points in game 1 and 26 points in game 2.  That’s the second-most lopsided first two games in first-round history.  Matt Barnes had an interesting explanation of what’s going on.

“We’re coming to a gunfight with some spoons,” said Matt Barnes, who justified his entire controversial Grizzlies tenure with that quote, because it describes the situation perfectly.

“As long as we go down swinging, who cares what happens?” said Barnes. “I just want to go down swinging, and I don’t think we’re doing that.”

The Grizzlies are trying, its just… It’s hard to beat a team that won 67 games this past season when you lost seven key players.
