The state of Virginia has made an unprecedented move by restoring the voting rights of Ex Felons in the state of Virginia. The bold move came about when Virginia Governor, Terry McAullife used his executive power to restore the right. The order grants over 200,000 ex felons the right to voice there opinion in public elections. The order overturns an archaic law which was biased in nature. The law came about when a provision was made during the Civil War Era to the states constitution. The provision made in attempt to strip African Americans of there right to vote. Prison is always a touchy subject. Many people feel that what is the purpose to punishing a criminal after he has completed his debt to society? Others feel the opposite. Pay close attention because I feel other states will be following suit.

States where you can vote even despite being an Ex Felon in the US:

Florida
Maine
Vermont
Iowa
Virginia
