A Wisconsin teen has been accused of shooting two students outside of a high school prom has died on Sunday. Police identified the suspect as 18-year-old Jakob Wagner. He used to attend Antigo High School, police Chief Eric Roller said. The victims were shot as they left a building where they had been celebrating prom. They both suffered injuries that were not life-threatening, according to police. The female victim was treated at the hospital for a gunshot wound and was released and the male victim underwent surgery late Sunday morning.

Jakob Wagner arrived at Antigo High School’s prom with a rifle and began to shoot outside the entrance of the building. Officers who were patrolling the parking lot heard the shots, and one of the officers opened fire on the gunman. Wagner was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died at 1:06 a.m. after doctors attempted lifesaving measures, a statement said.

Wagner is believed to be a lone shooter in this incident and investigators have started executing a search warrant at his home Sunday.

The high schools official’s have not yet released many details about what was the cause of the shooting that took place at the prom. It’s said to be a pending investigation.
