The legendary Kool & the Gang are already a part of the New Jersey Hall of Fame (can’t lie – didn’t even know we had one,) so it’s only right that their hometown get a street named after them! Tomorrow, April 29, the portion of Maple from Pacific Avenue (where Ronald “Khalis” Bell and his brother Robert, aka “Kool,” grew up) to Whiton Street in Jersey City will be renamed Kool & the Gang Way.

“It’s the equivalent of having a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” said Khalis. “I never dreamed of it. I’m humbled and honored. And it’s just amazing that it’s that corner where we grew up.”

That’s really dope, and I’m proud to call that city home! Can’t wait to visit the street sign when it’s up!
