A Houston man has just been sentenced to 25 years in prison after chocking his prom date to death back in 2014. Eddie Herrera admitted to choking 17-year-old Jackie Gomez at a hotel during rough sex.
An autopsy found alcohol and also hydrocodone in the girls system. A statement released says,
“With a combination of the alcohol and the hydrocodone, the body was already so depressed that it could not recover from those choking injuries. This is just extremely sad because it could’ve all been prevented.”
During trial, the prosecutors bought up the fact that Herrera called his mother the next morning upon finding the girl dead and waited two hours before calling 911. The victim’s cousin told Herrera she will never forgive him for what he did to her cousin.
