Of course many comedians get their start very young. Usually it’s a dare for them to go up on stage and a say of view jokes and it’s usually in an appropriate setting. Not for Seth Rogen.
Seth Rogen was on Jimmy Fallon’s “Tonight Show” and he decided to share his first stand up experience. It was in a lesbian bar in Vancouver and surprisingly, his family was very supportive of him.
“I started when I was 13, so I had no driver’s license,” Rogen said. “The first show I did was at a lesbian bar called the Lotus, which is a flower. I didn’t understand at the time. I thought it was Ladies’ Night.”
Rogen admitted that the meaning of the word “flower” didn’t really register to him at that age, as I would assume it didn’t register to any other 13 years olds either.
“I didn’t get it at the time, I guess, the metaphor,” Rogen said. “I was like ‘Wow, they really like close-up pictures of blooming flowers in this place.”
