Many incidents involving the police force and black citizens have been viewed as racially bias and discriminating. Over the course of three years there have been a huge number of police brutality and killings like never before. One cop in California has stepped down after taking the life of a woman.

Gregory P. Suhr fatally shot a 27 year old black woman, forcing him to resign as chief. The tensions and frustrations of the community has reached an all time high, causing people to question why so many African American lives are being taken by the law.
The Mayor, Edwin M. Lee shared:

“These officer-involved shootings, justified or not, have forced our city to open its eyes to questions of when and how police use lethal force.”

San Francisco’s police have had an interesting history with police brutality and discrimination. A black man was just killed in December and a Hispanic man was killed in April. Although this is only a small step to fighting the senseless murders and acts of police brutality, it definitely sends a powerful message.
