Sha Money XL, the one responsible for signing Bobby Shmurda to Epic Records, recalls in a GQ article the moments before Shmurda’s arrest him and Busta Rhymes both warning Bobby to cool down and keep a lower profile. The story goes like this…

Sha & Bobby were in an elevator at Quad Studios talking about his rise to fame, when Sha suggested Bobby lower his profile because it seemed the NYPD were interested in him and his GS9 crew. When the elevator hit a lower studio floor, Busta tried to hop in but was already full. Right before the doors closed Busta said to Bobby: “You got to be safe out there, mon.”

Sounds like something out of a movie right? Not for Bobby, unfortunately this is the 21 year old’s reality.
