Model Maggie Carrie Heckstall was one of the women shot during the T.I. concert the other night. Carrie was celebrating her 26th birthday when the shots erupted. She was shot in the leg and escorted to the hospital. Since than, Carrie’s lawyer, Emel McDowell, claims the NYPD has been treating Carrie as if she is a criminal. They have been standing outside of her room and even turning her family away from visitations.

Her lawyer says,

“[Police] want to investigate and we get that, but don’t make her life miserable because she took a stray bullet. We understand the NYPD is doing their job, but she’s not under investigation. She’s not in custody for the crime. She didn’t ask for police protection. She’s obviously a victim in this. They’re making her life worse by doing this.”

The Blanch Law Firm representing the model has recently sent over a cease-and-desist letter to ask the NYPD to step down and allow visitations. The letter stated,

“The infringement upon Ms. Heckstall’s 4th Amendment right to be free from illegal search and seizure is emotionally draining for Ms. Heckstall and also an impediment to her speedy and full recovery,”

Heckstall had attended the event with her boyfriend’d entourage Maino. Since the shooting, doctors have left the bullet inside of Heckstall’s leg and implanted a rod. Praying for a speedy recovery.
