Fetty Wap’s “Wake Up” video has caused an investigation at Eastside High School in Paterson, NJ. I can’t say that I’m surprised at this news!
The video was shot there, as it’s the school that the “Trap Queen” rapper attended before dropping out to pursue other avenues, and the questionable imagery in the final product has district administrators none too pleased.

I’m sure I was not the only one a bit taken aback upon my first watch of the video last week, as scenes inside the school’s halls included a twerking stripper equipped with a pole, “students” (paid extras, likely of age) drinking 40s and other behavior one wouldn’t think a school would approve for a video that will be seen worldwide… And it turns out, they didn’t.

“As there are procedures that must be followed in securing the use of our facilities, whether all procedures were followed is in question and being investigated – and will be addressed as a personnel matter,” Terry Corallo, the district’s spokeswoman said to NJ.com. “The district does not endorse the content of this video.”

At this point, I don’t think it’s Fetty that will face any consequences, but more than likely the high school officials who approved the video being shot, and didn’t veto the images after. I’m sure they had to have signed off on it, so he’s probably in the clear.

Still – does this video make you a bit uncomfy too? I LOVE Fetty, I think he’s amazingly talented and I can’t even express how happy I am for all that he’s done for our state of New Jersey, but I really can’t say that I want to stand behind this video… Watch it here and let us know your thoughts!
