A Aldine Independent School District Middle School teacher turned herself in after being accused of sleeping with a 8th grade student. Alexandria Vera not only slept with the student, but also got pregnant by him.
Vera admitted to engaging in contact with the student since September. When they began messing around, the student was younger than 14. Vera told officials she met the boy in a summer school session. The student reached out to the teacher via Instagram. They began conversing after the teacher DM’d him about not showing up to school in which the student asked for her number. The student asked Vera if they could hang out. She went and picked him up where they began kissing. She even came to his home while his parents were not there. That was the first time the two had sex.
Versa claims that the parents were highly aware of the relationship and approved of it. She says they allowed the student to stay at her home and they had sex regularly. After their late night sessions, she would drop him off in the morning to catch the bus to school. Vera says she was even invited to family events.
One parent says,
“(It’s) horrible for any father or any family member going through this situation. When you send your kid to the school you think everything will be safe for them and everything. But I think this is something that is serious that needs to be investigated.”
Child Protective Services showed up at school to question Vera about her relationship with the student. She says after that she got an abortion.
