A woman filed a lawsuit against New York Knicks forward Kyle O’Quinn after he and his jealous girlfriend allegedly assaulted her outside of a Manhattan bar.

According to the lawsuit filed in Brooklyn Supreme Court, Shakaira Elaine Elie, 22, was at a day party with her friends at Trinity Place Bar and Restaurant on May 22.  They noticed a tall man staring at her, who unbeknownst to Elie, was O’Quinn.  He was with a woman – believed to be his girlfriend – who also allegedly noticed him making googly eyes at Elie and was not paying attention to her, according to the suit’s account.

As the party was winding down and everyone made their way out, O’Quinn allegedly tried to talk to Elie, but she wasn’t interested. Nonetheless, his companion allegedly attacked her, the lawsuit says.

O’Quinn allegedly jumped in and grabbed Elie by the neck, choking and slamming her to the ground twice, according to the court documents.

After the episode, Elie’s bag and wallet went missing, the suit says.

Elie and her friend found out he played for the Knicks and after searching online, they found his photograph and contacted the police two days later.  The case is still under investigation.

Meanwhile, Elie went to the hospital and was treated for bruises to her face, head, neck, ribs and elbow.

Elie is suing the restaurant for failing to have proper security as well as O’Quinn and his girlfriend for the pain and suffering she sustained from the assault.
