IFWT_Teen Gets 25

A Connecticut teen was awarded 25 years for what will now be the biggest mistake of his life. 19 year old Christopher Plaskon who was 17 at the time took matters into his own hands when he decided before junior prom (not even senior prom) to stab Maren Sanchez at Jonathan Law High School on April 25th, 2014.

Shockingly enough the teen made it clear his actions took place because he was upset Sanchez turned down his prom request invitation. This was not the first time an event so tragic has taken place. Plaskon’s defense team stated Plaskon showed signs of psychosis and they considered an insanity defense. Despite the defense the judged rendered the 25 year sentence. Is the sentence just? Should the school have known the teen was troubled and could be capable of hurting others? Or can our young people not take no for an answer anymore?
